When Exactly Does Feng Shui Period 9 Start?

When there are discussions of period 9 in feng shui, most (if not all) people are referring to period 9 in Xuan Kong flying stars feng shui.

It officially starts in 2024. More specifically, it would take root on 4th February 2024 at 1637 hours.

But despite this piece of clear information, there are certain schools of thought that challenges this concept or have their own views for when period 9 starts.

For example, Xuan Kong Liu Fa (玄空六法), like Xuan Kong Da Gua (玄空大卦), has a different set of rules that governs the periods. And according to it’s ideas, period 9 has already started way back in 2017.

Then there are those who believe that the current concept of calculating the 9 periods are flawed. This is more commonly debated in the western world.

The idea is that the 20-year cycle of each period is based on the time it takes for the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction to repeat itself… which is not exactly 20 years.

Some believe that the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction of December 2020 itself is proof that the period has changed.

So if we work backwards to as early as the 1900s BC, then some astrologist actually believe that the period 2 started in 2020!

But there is no conclusive reference to the 20 year periods being a direct reflection of the conjunction.

The ancient sages and scholars are not devoid of astronomy knowledge even though modern science was still in it’s infancy during those days. These are the greatest thinkers of those times.

However, it must be stated that it is clearly stated in classical text that the 9 ages of Xuan Kong runs in 20-year cycles consisting of 9 periods each. Thus, making up the 180-year cycle.

So from referring to the classics, the period of 9 in flying stars feng shui commences in 2024.
